The Brenau Downtown Center just off the historic Gainesville Square will open its doors Thursday, March 9 for a special Women's History Month event presented by AARP.
AARP Georgia will host a historical photographic exhibition and keynote address about the life influences, legacy and societal contributions of Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, founder of AARP and the National Retired Teachers Association. Andrus was the first woman high school principal in the state of California. She also was an elder rights activist who founded AARP in 1958.

The event takes place between 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
An open house reception, in collaboration with the Georgia Retired Educator’s Association, follows the keynote address.
