After attempting to flee a traffic stop in Hall County Saturday, a White County man faces a list of charges after authorities discovered nearly 30 grams of meth in his possession.
Sautee native Ronald James Rogers, 43, faces nine charges in the case, including Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
Hall County authorities attempted to stop Rogers' vehicle Saturday after he committed a traffic violation, but, according to Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware, Rogers instead pulled the vehicle into the driveway of a nearby residence and fled the scene on foot.
"Following a foot pursuit, he was arrested without further incident," Ware explained. "He was found in possession of a loaded .38-caliber revolver and a baggy containing in excess of 28 grams of methamphetamine."
Ware said the drugs had an estimated street value of over $2,800.
Rogers was transported from the scene to the Hall County Jail, where he was booked on the following charges:
- Trafficking Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Loitering
- Obstruction (M)
- Hold for Another County in Ga.
- No Driver's License
- Headlight Violation
Ware noted that the case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
