A Clarkesville man ends up in jail after drug agents discover a quantity of methamphetamine and marijuana - along with suspected drug money - during a traffic stop.

The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) said Christopher Kinney was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by Habersham County Sheriff's deputies on Sunday, April 9.  A search of the vehicle turned up $4,670 worth of illegal drugs, according to agents.

They said they found more than $4,000 in cash in suspected drug money, along with a firearm.

"As a result of this investigation, Kinney was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by convicted felon and possession of a firearm during a crime," a statement from ARDEO read.

Kinney was booked into the Habersham County Detention Center.
