A group of volunteers from United Parcel Service were in Gainesville Friday to honor the memory of a Gainesville High graduate and fellow worker who was murdered in Atlanta earlier this year.

About 50 members of the UPS corporate legal department spent about six hours during a "day of service" at Gateway Domestic Violence Center.

Trinh Huynh, a longtime Gainesville resident and a lawyer at UPS, was shot and killed in April as she crossed Peachtree Street.

"Her friends and coworkers describe Trinh as having a 'heart of gold' and deep concern for other people," said Jessica Butler, Gateway's executive director.  "The service of her coworkers in her memory will have a lasting impact on the families at Gateway, and we were so honored to be a part of this project.”
