Hall County fire investigators have determined a fire that destroyed a West Hall home early Monday night was accidental in nature, but still don't know exactly what caused the fire to ignite.
Firefighters were called to the Oakwood-area scene on Spinnaker Lane near Flat Creek Road around 7:57 p.m., where Captain Zach Brackett with Hall County Fire Services said they discovered a "6,000-square-foot home heavily involved with fire."
"Initially, an offensive attack was utilized, but the strategy was changed to defensive when parts of the building started to collapse," Brackett continued.
The home, which was worth $800,000, was deemed a total loss per an update from Brackett Tuesday morning. He added in a second update later in the day that investigators would continue to process the scene in hopes of determining what caused the fire in the first place.
"The Hall County Fire Marshal's Office will continue to investigate the cause and that information will be released once a determination has been made," he continued.
Brackett said that no injuries were reported in the fire, although two adult occupants, one male and one female, were displaced as a result.
