A prominent Hall County businessman, active in the poultry industry and as a Jackson EMC board member for many years, will be buried Friday.
Ray Jones, 88, died at his Flowery Branch home Tuesday following an extended illness.
The funeral will be at 2:00 Friday in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jones served on the Jackson EMC Board of Directors for nearly 40 years.
His professional career in Georgia’s poultry industry included serving as president of Crystal Farms, Inc. and Crystal Farms Mills, Inc., President of J&S Farms, director of the Georgia Egg Association, director of the American Egg Board, and secretary and director of the National Egg Company.
Past community service includes: Northeast Georgia Medical Center trustee, Gainesville College Foundation trustee, First National Bank of Gainesville (now Regions Bank) director, charter president of the South Hall Kiwanis Club, member of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club, and Rotary Club.
