OAKWOOD — West Hall football knew full well just how important Friday's game at Denmark was for the Spartans' playoff hopes in 2018.
Certainly Corey Dupree knew it -- and the senior defensive end played like it.
Dupree scooped up a fumble and returned it for a touchdown, picked off one pass, broke up another, produced two sacks and two quarterback hurries, and recorded four solo tackles and three assists to help lead West Hall to a 48-27 victory at Denmark.
For his efforts Dupree has been named the Conditioned Air Systems Athlete of the Week.
Friday's win kept the Spartans right in the thick of the Region 7-4A playoff race, as they look to make it six straight campaigns to reach the postseason.
