CLEVELAND — White County football found itself in a vital situation on Friday night.
The Warriors' Michael Mintz found himself in a unique situation.
Turns out they were tailor made for each other.
Facing West Hall in a must-win showdown, White County's offense turned to Mintz, normally a defensive stalwart, for a spark.
The move worked, and then some, as Mintz ran for three touchdowns and a caught a scoring pass. He also did his normal defensive damage, racking up seven tackles and scooping up a fumble and returning it for a touchodwn in a 48-34 win over the Spartans that halted a five-game losing skid and kept the Warriors alive in the postseason hunt in Region 7-4A.
For his efforts, Mintz has been named the Conditioned Air Systems Athlete of the Week.
AccessWDUN Sports and Friday Game Night's Morgan Lee recently caught up with Mintz to talk about his big night, White County's rebound, and what the Warriors must do to keep it going.
