Brinson named Lanier Tech's Vice President of Academic Affairs

Lanier Technical College has named long-time employee Donna Brinson as the school's new Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA).

According to a Monday morning from the college, Brinson has almost 30 years of experience in higher education, including extensive services to students at Lanier Technical College.

Brinson started as an Adjunct Instructor at Lanier Tech in July 1994 at the Oakwood Campus, the only campus at that time. Her full-time career with Lanier Tech began in October 1997 as the Mathematics Instructor for the new Forsyth Campus, which opened in January 1998. Further experience includes serving as an Academic Administrator for the College since 2002. Most recently, Brinson served as the College’s Dean of Business, Public Safety and Professional Services.

Brinson's experience includes helping Lanier Technical College grow from one campus to five campuses, transition from the academic Quarter System to the Semester System, and assisting the College through SACSCOC accreditation. Brinson has served under four Lanier Tech presidents.

“Mrs. Brinson has spent the last 24 years at Lanier Technical College. She has served as an academic leader for the last 17 years. Her work has allowed her to build relationships with faculty and staff at all of our campuses. Over the years, Donna has demonstrated strong, effective leadership and a commitment to the mission of our college as well as a commitment to the success of our students," said Dr. Ray Perren, President of Lanier Technical College. 

Brinson begins her new duties for Lanier Technical College immediately.
