Freeman recognized for 40+ years of service to Legacy Link

Pat Freeman received a Lifetime Achievement Award Wednesday for 42 years of service as the director of the Legacy Link, the Area Agency on Aging.

A reception honoring Freeman was held at the Legacy Link headquarters in Oakwood.

The agency is responsible for advocacy for seniors, planning, and administration of programs, coordination and monitoring services in a 13-county area of northeast Georgia.  The counties it serves are Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White counties.  It also serves other counties in its Senior Employment, SOURCE and Ombudsman programs.

Freeman has headed the agency since 1976.
