Because of the rain, the annual Rock Creek Veterans Day observance has been canceled, and local Vietnam veterans who sponsor the event will combine efforts with a ceremony coordinated by the Paul E. Bolding Post 7 of the American Legion.
The combined event is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Lakewood Baptist Church at 2235 Thompson Bridge Road in Gainesville.
The observance is open to the public.
