A Gainesville man will remain in jail without bond after being charged with attacking a woman with a baseball bat.

Monday, a judge denied bond to Joseph Clayton James, 45.

James is accused of hitting a woman with a baseball bat, striking her in the head, hip and leg.

Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman Derreck Booth said the woman received non-life threatening injuries during the alleged November 5 attack. James was arrested on November 7.

James will have a committal hearing on November 26.
