An early-morning house fire on Hancock Avenue in Hall County left  a family of six with no place to live.

Firefighters from both Hall County and Gainesville arrived at the burning home around 3 a.m. Hall County Fire Capt. Zachary Brackett said when crews arrived, about 40-percent of the 1,500 square-foot house was burning.

"An interior fire attack was utilized to extinguish the fire," Brackett said. "The home sustained heavy damage and a family of six was displaced."

Brackett said no one in the family was injured and the American Red Cross is assisting them.

At this point, the cause of the fire is undetermined.
