The Barrow County Emergency Management Agency has expanded its management team.
Captain Scott Dakin is filling the role of Deputy Director, while Captain Glen Cain and Captain Richard Carignan are Assistant Deputy Directors. The three will be assisting EMA Director Penny Clack in different areas of the preparedness efforts.
The county has several other personnel who are Certified Emergency Managers and several officers who are in the process of obtaining this certification.
“With a fast-growing population as well as numerous potential threats to the county, the agency is critical to the preparedness and response to disasters in Barrow,” Clack said. “In the last few years we have made great strides in the way we operate, and now we are taking the next step in our efforts.”
