South State Bank has donated $10,000 to support foster children and families in need in Towns and Union counties. The bank donated $5,000 to the Towns and Union Foster Children’s Enrichment Program and $5,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Towns and Union counties.
“At South State, we’re passionate about supporting our communities,” said Joseph Brice, South State retail area manager. “We’re really pleased that we could help enrich the lives of foster children in our area, and we feel honored to have been able to collect gifts for them and decorate the room where they will receive them later this month.
“Habitat for Humanity, which was founded in Georgia more than 40 years ago, works to provide individuals and families in need in our community with decent, affordable housing – a value shared by South State. We’re pleased to be able to further their work in Towns and Union counties so that more of our neighbors have a place to call home this year.”
“South State’s generous donation will be used to provide funds for foster children’s enrichment activities, like GED fees, transcripts and diplomas, music lessons, 4-H camps, gymnastic lessons, karate lessons and group soccer fees. These activities can be so meaningful to the children experiencing the trauma of foster care,” said Pam Curley, Towns & Union Foster Children’s Enrichment Program Inc. board member.
