With the new year arriving Tuesday, gasoline prices across Georgia continue a steady drop.
GasBuddy reports a decrease of 3.2-cents per gallon over this time a week ago. Gas Buddy reports a statewide average of $2.06 a gallon after the agency's survey of 5,883 stations across the state. This compares with the national average that has fallen 6.6 cents per gallon versus last week to $2.25 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.
Including the change locally during the past week, prices yesterday were 26.2-cents per gallon lower than a year ago and are 22-cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has dropped 21.3 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 23.8 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
GasBuddy plans to issue a 2019 fuel outlook on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
The numbers from AAA this week different a couple of pennies from the GasBuddy survey. AAA-Auto Club South has the statewide average at $2.08 per gallon. The average price per gallon in Hall County is $2.06, while the price has dropped below two dollars a gallon in some counties in North Georgia, including Gwinnett and Jackson counties.
