Seven Hall County Democrats qualify for 2018 elections, largest number in recent years

The Hall County Democratic Party this year is fielding its greatest number of candidates for local and statewide offices in recent memory.  

Seven candidates had signed up by the noon deadline Friday for six posts, ranging from US Representative to county school board.

Josh McCall qualified to run for the 9th U.S. Congressional District and will face Rabun County resident Dave Cooper in the Democratic Primary Election on May 22.

A second primary contest is between Patrick Anderson and Alana Watkins who both qualified to run for Georgia House District 30.  María Palacios, who ran for Gainesville City Council in 2017, qualified for Georgia House District 29.

Stephanie Lopez qualified to run for the Hall County Board of Education at-large seat, and William Wallace qualified to run for Hall County Board of Education District 2.

Mike Parker qualified to run for Hall County Commission District 1.
