*Christy Pierce, a special education paraprofessional with the Gainesville City School System for eleven years, has been selected as a recipient of the 2018 Philip Wright Award. She and other award winners across northeast Georgia were recognized March 2 at the 17th Annual Philip Wright Award ceremony sponsored by North Georgia Learning Resources System. The award recognizes individuals for their service, commitment, and advocacy of children with disabilities.
*Dr. Shawn D. Spencer has been appointed dean of the PCOM School of Pharmacy located at Georgia Campus – Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee. He will begin this position on March 26.

*Next week's presentation of The Norman P. Blake Family Distinguished Speaker Series at Riverside Military Academy features American-Cuban, singer, songwriter Jon Secada. With a career spanning over two decades, he has been awarded two Grammy Awards, sold 20 million albums, and played starring roles on Broadway. A reception in his honor will be held at 10:40 on Tuesday, March 20, in the Sandy Beaver Center Rotunda.
