A memorial service scheduled for Saturday, March 17 to honor the victims of a 1998 tornado that hit North Hall County has been moved to an indoor location, since rain is expected in the area.

Organizers said Wednesday that the service will now take place at the Clermont Chattahoochee Center on Main Street across from Concord Baptist Church.

The service time is unchanged; it begins at 10 a.m.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the March 20 tornado. Thirteen people in the Clermont area were killed when the twister tore through the community that morning.

The names of the 13 victims of the tornado that hit the Clermont area on March 20, 1998 are engraved on this memorial stone at Gailey Park.
