Call it a “Speedway Snow Day.”
With winter weather blanketing the area in and around Virginia’s Martinsville Speedway, NASCAR officials have announced Sunday morning that all racing activity has been postponed until Monday.
That makes Monday a double-header for NASCAR’s Monster Energy Cup Series and the Camping World Trucks, with the Cup Series’ STP 500 now set for a start around 2 pm.
The Truck Series race, the Alpha Energy Solutions 250 will now roll off at 11 am on Monday morning after being halted by rain 23 laps in on Saturday afternoon.
Rain also washed out Saturday’s Cup Series qualifying, leaving the field to be set by points. That put last week’s race winner, Martin Truex, Jr., on the pole for what is now Monday’s race.
WDUN will carry live MRN Radio coverage of Monday's weather delayed Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway beginning at 2 pm on 102.9 FM and streaming live on AccessWDUN.
