Americans Helping Americans recently recognized Ann Fleming of Caring Hands Ministries with an International Day of Women announcement on its website, www.helpingamericans.org.
“Today we would like to celebrate# International Women’s Day with you by sharing the story of a truly remarkable woman and her even more remarkable work. Ann Fleming is a woman with a mission – a mission she’s had since 1995 when she founded Caring Hands Ministries with her husband Charles Fleming and the late Mervin Caudell to help people in northeast Georgia with emergency assistance including food, utility assistance, homeless prevention, job readiness, self-sufficiency ...and community programs such as their annual community Christmas dinner for over 600 people."
The posting notes that Fleming leads an all-volunteer ministry serving more than 4,000 people each year and Americans Helping Americans "is proud to be one of their long-term partners assisting with cash grants for assistance in paying utility bills, as well in-kind items such as winter coats, blankets, and shoes, and more."
Fleming says she was surprised and honored at this recognition.
“It is not mine alone. It belongs to everyone involved, volunteers, local business and church sponsors, individual donors and grant makers and to the people who allow us to help them. Most of all it belongs to God who has made this all possible."
Caring Hands Ministries serves people in need in Banks, Dawson, Habersham. Hall, Lumpkin, and White counties and the surrounding area.
