Turkish company to open North American HQ in Gainesville

Elastron, a company based in Istanbul, Turkey, plans to open its North American headquarters in Gainesville. 

Elastron is a global developer, producer and marketer of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), according to a press statement relased last week. The company has been in business for more than 35 years and exports its products to more than 55 countries across the globe. Elastron expanded into the North American Market in 2012. 

Production at Elastron USA in Hall County will begin in the third quarter of 2018. 

"Market research has clearly identified that U.S. consumers are looking for a supplier with improved customer service, flexibility and willingness to collaborate with customers on development programs," said Metin Mizrakli, chairman and CEO of Elastron. “We are very excited about expanding our global production capabilities to the North American market."

Georgia’s business-friendly environment and economic development efforts to attract investment from Turkey led Elaston’s search to consider Georgia, according to press information from the company. After an exhaustive site selection process, Elastron USA selected Gainesville for its new North American headquarters.

“It’s an honor when a company chooses to locate its North American headquarters in Georgia,” said Governor Nathan Deal. “Our pro-business environment has been a magnet for innovative companies for many years. I am thrilled that Elastron USA will call Gainesville home. Not only is it a win-win for Hall County, but for the entire state.”

In the next two to three years, Elastron USA is expected to provide 20 to 25 new jobs to the region, and within the next three to five years, grow to 60 to 80 employees. The company’s initial investment is $10 million.

The company plans to renovate an existing building at 975 Chestnut Street for the new venture.
