Work on the 66-year old Roy Head Bridge over Little Tesnatee Creek in White County will close the bridge June 12 for 21 days, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Crews with Comanche of Georiga, LLC in Marietta will clean, paint, replace joints, and place a protective overlay to the driving surface of the bridge.
Traffic will be detoured at the junction of SR 11/ US 129 and Tesnatee Valley Gap Road for approximately three miles to State Route 115 (West Kytle street). Then traffic will be directed to turn left on SR 115 and proceed 700 feet and turn left onto the West Cleveland Bypass for approximately 1.6 miles until the junction with SR 11/ US 129 where the detour ends.
