Absentee ballots for "by mail" voting are now available through the Hall County Elections Office for the July 24 runoffs.

Applications are available at the elections office in the county government center on the county's website.  A written request for the ballots is required but you do not have to state a reason for making the application.  July 20 is the last day the elections office can issue an absentee ballot to a would-be voter.

Lori Wurtz, who is in charge of the elections office, noted that even if you did not vote May 22, but were eligible to do so, you may vote July 24; if you voted a non-partisan ballot the first time around, you may vote in the runoff.  However, if you voted in either the Democratic or Republican Primary May 22, you cannot change parties if you vote July 24.

Meanwhile, in-person Early Voting begins July 2 and ends July 20.   Early Voting will take place at the elections office.

There are no local races on the Hall County runoff ballots, only state races for governor, lieutenant governor and secretary of state on the Republican ballot and state schools superintendent on the Democratic ballot.
