Hall County is hosting two public information meetings this week on the new tax service districts that resulted from the Service Delivery Strategy agreement, which was adopted in 2017 and is mandated by state law.

"In SDS negotiations between the County and its cities, it was decided to carve out various tax service districts to tax all residents in a more equitable manner based on services received or services available to them," Hall County Financial Services Director Zach Propes said. "As a result, the Hall County Government portion of property tax bills will look a little different this year, and we want citizens to understand what those changes are."

This year's tax bills will include three new tax service districts, which are titled "Development Services," "Emergency Services" and "Parks and Leisure," in addition to the General Maintenance & Operation and Fire Services Districts that have appeared on tax bills in the past. Property tax bills will include the applicable service districts based on where the property is located within Hall County.

The meetings will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19 and at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, both in the Commission Meeting Room on the second floor of the Hall County Government Center.
