With a little more than a year left for construction on the Exit 14 interchange project on I-985 in Hall County, traffic will shift on Thurmond Tanner between Avery Drive and Tanners Creek Road this week to accommodate more progress.

For the next four months, traffic will be reduced to one lane for approximately half a mile while the contractor widens the road for the right turn lanes, center turn lane and median construction.

The new right turn lanes will be longer, and an additional left hand turn lane on the north side of Martin Road will also be built during this lane shift.

G.P.'s Enterprises, Inc. was awarded this project in June 2017, and the scheduled completion date is August 31, 2019.
