The new Convocation Center at the University of North Georgia has landed an award for the company that built it.

Atlanta-based Juneau Construction Co. collected a South Atlantic Chapter Construction Management Project Achievement Award in the “Public: Construction Under $50M” category from the Construction Management Association of America on June 12.

“This is a great honor for Juneau Construction, which constructed a truly beautiful building for UNG that will impact thousands of students over the coming years,” said Ken Crowe, assistant vice president for facilities at UNG.

The 103,000-square-foot facility with a 3,600-seat arena hosts various events on UNG’s Dahlonega campus. The $37.4 million building opened to students, faculty, and staff in February and hosted commencement ceremonies for the first time in May.
