Daniel Hill, an intern with Private Client Advisory, Inc., a Gainesville financial advisory firm, has been named winner of the 2018 Phi Beta Lambda Financial Services Award, beating out 90 contestants from across the country to take home top honors.
Phi Beta Lambda presented the award to Hill at the recent National Leadership Conference in Baltimore.
Potential award recipients were required to compete at three levels of competition: District, State, and Nationals. After moving on from the District level, Daniel and his partner (and younger sister), Ashley Hill, placed first in the Georgia state-wide competition, which was based on a 100-question comprehensive exam.
Having won State, the pair was then eligible to compete at Nationals and completed another exam in the first round of the event. Only the top 15 exam scorers in the country advanced to the next round, which consisted of a case study and 20 minutes to prepare a seven-minute presentation in front of a panel of judges.
Roger Sulhoff, co-founder of Private Client Advisory, Inc. was pleased about Hill's performance, saying: "We are blessed to have Daniel intern on our team this summer. He is as motivated and sharp as he is humble. His servant's heart shows in everything he does, and I couldn't be happier for him."
Of the Phi Beta Lambda organization and the national competition, Hill said, "I have grown to become a more effective leader in all that I do for having been part of Phi Beta Lambda. And I'm especially proud of my little sister, Ashley, who was my partner in this exciting event!"
Daniel graduates with an Associates Degree in Accounting from North Georgia Technical College this month and will continue on as a Junior at the University of North Georgia in the fall.
