One person was killed and two others seriously injured in a head-on crash in Forsyth County Thursday.
According to traffic investigators, the the accident happened around noon on Canton Highway (GA-20) just east of Carla Drive.
"The investigation at this point has determined that a 2002 Lexus GS300, operated by 26-year-old Brandon Schneider of Cumming, Georgia was traveling west on Canton Highway. The 2002 Lexus crossed over the painted yellow median and struck a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze which was traveling east on Canton Highway," said Forsyth County Sheriff's Cpl. Doug Rainwater in a press statement.
The Chevrolet Cruze was being driven by 74-year-old Bunia Lathem from Cumming, and her front seat passenger was 87-year-old Connie Mack (Doc) Lathem.
Connie Mack Lathem died on Friday as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision.
Bunia Lathem, at last report, remained hospitalized with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Schneider also was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Traffic Specialist Unit.
Charges could be filed once the investigation is complete.
