Hubert Stephens Road reopened Friday, several days ahead of its scheduled reopening date.
"I would like to thank E.R. Snell, who served as the contractor on the project, for their swift work despite the recent rains our area experienced," said Hall County Engineer III Denise Farr.
Farr said the road was closed in order to replace the aging Hubert Stephens Bridge, which required a replacement due to its age and a recent inspection report from the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Hubert Stephens Road was closed April 30 in preparation for the bridge replacement. It was expected to reopen by the start of the 2018-2019 school year, which begins Tuesday for Hall County Schools.
