New Holland Knowledge Academy teachers and staff kicked off the new school year with a visit to local neighborhoods on August 2.
The purpose of the visit, according to this week's Gainesville City School System newsletter, was to welcome students back to school and to enable faculty and staff to establish a personal connection with the students they serve.
Teachers spent time meeting their upcoming students while office staff and paraprofessionals distributed pencils, Open House flyers, and books.
Classes began August 8.
