A closing ceremony "After Party" is planned in conjunction with the Dragon Boat World Championships later this month in Gainesville.
As part of the celebration, "DEPARTURE: The Journey Tribute Band" will perform at The Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center Sept. 16 at 7:00. The concert will follow the closing ceremonies which will be held at the Lake Lanier Rowing Center, where the championships will be staged.
As AccessWDUN reported a couple of weeks ago, "Remember When Rock Was Young: The Elton John Tribute" will be the featured entertainment for the opening ceremonies, also at the Lake Lanier venue, on Sept. 12. Dragon boat competition also begins that day and continues through Sept. 16.
