HOMER — Terrance Walker scored 5 touchdowns to lead Banks County football to its first win of the season with authority on Friday night, as the Leopards defeated East Jackson 50-10 in Homer.
Walker just missed out on 6 touchdowns, fumbling just before crossing the end zone on the first score of the game -- but teammate Braxton Simpson pounced on the loose ball for an 8-0 lead (following a 2-point conversion run) in the first quarter.
Walker was not to be denied again, scoring from 35, 2, 2, 48 and 65 yards as Banks County raced to a 42-7 lead early in the third quarter.
East Jackson scored in the first quarter to make it 15-7 but would not score again until a field goal midway through the third quarter.
Bowen Roberts also added a 25-yard touchdown run for Banks to cap the contest.
The Leopards (1-2) begin Region 8-2A play next week at Social Circle.
