TOCCOA — For just over a half on Friday, Habersham Central seemed set to run away with its fourth straight win.

Stephens County was having none of it.

The Indians picked off three Raiders passes, put together some huge plays on offense and ripped off 34 unanswered points en route to a 41-38 victory in Toccoa.

The Indians (3-2) gashed the Raiders (3-2) for 559 total yards, including 327 rushing on 47 carries. Hudson Spurlock paced Stephens with 131 yards rushing despite being ejected in the second half.

Habersham put up 378 total yards, including 265 passing, completing 15 of 31 attempts or three scores. But the three interceptions proved costly.

Meanwhile, the Indians held the Raiders to 113 yards rushing on 31 attempts and allowed just four conversions of 11 attempts on third down.

Habersham will take a bye before facing Lanier in Region 8-6A play on Sept. 28.
