A Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office deputy has been arrested for allegedly giving her cellphone to an inmate in the county jail.

The Gwinnett Daily Post reports investigators determined Natalie Crawford, 48, not only gave the phone to an inmate, but also violated state law by having a loaded weapon inside a secured area of the Gwinnett County Jail.

Crawford was arrested Monday and remains in jail with no bond, according to the newspaper.

She is charged with felony violation of an oath by public officer and felony items prohibited for possession by inmates. The newspaper reported more charges may be filed against Crawford.
