The 2nd Annual Gainesville Women's March is planned next Saturday in downtown Gainesville from 1:00-3:00.
"Please join us to celebrate the activism and achievements of women throughout history, and learn about ways to get involved in women's issues," reads a Facebook posting announcing this year's plans. "We will be meeting at the Eternal Flame between the Gainesville Square and the Courthouse."
After a "meet and greet," plans call for attendees to march around the square and return to the Eternal Flame where speeches are planned.
Organizers are encouraging signs as part of the event but add "please do not attach wooden or metal handles to them. Please, avoid vulgarity on signs as well. We want this event to be encouraging and uplifting for the women of Northeast Georgia!"
