A concert in Gainesville Nov. 23, "What Would Petula Do? A Tribute to Petula Clark," will be held Nov. 23 to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Hall County.
Maxine Linehan's performance is a tribute to the British actress, singer, and composer whose career spans eight decades.
Linehan's performance takes her audiences on a musical journey charting the course of Clark’s career from her early popular recordings in the 1940s, through her mega-stardom in the 1960s, to her award-winning performances in film and on Broadway right up to the 1990s. With songs like "I Know a Place," "Don’t Sleep in the Subway," "Color My World," "Old Devil Moon," "This Is My Song" and, of course, "Downtown," the 1960s mega-hit that pushed her into the spotlight and worldwide stardom.
The concert begins at 7:00 and will be held in the Ramsey Conference Center at Lanier Technical College.
