The Georgia State Patrol has released the identity of the victim in a Saturday afternoon vehicle crash on Candler Road in Gainesville.
SFC Auston Allen said Vincent Elliott, 48, of Chamblee was killed when his truck veered off the road about a half mile from Roy Parks Road. Elliott's vehicle struck a tree. Investigating troopers said he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The fatal accident was reported around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9.
The victim's identity was withheld for several days until members of his family could be notified of the death.
