Authorities are investigating a possible drowning incident that occurred Saturday in Forsyth County.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said on social media that the department was involved in search efforts centering on a lake off Dahlonega Highway in the area of Oak Grove Circle.
"We are engaged in a search for an individual under presumed drowning circumstances as we have exhausted most alternate locations where the individual might be located," Forsyth County Fire Division Chief Jason Shivers said in a follow-up email. "It is important to note that the location is on private property."
The online post said that search efforts were suspended Saturday night and resumed Sunday morning.
Locals were warned of the likely presence of first responders in the search area, as well as possible helicopter activity overhead.
Assisting in the investigation are the Forsyth County Fire Department, Georgia State Patrol aviation units and Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
