Representatives from the Gold Shield Fund and Memorial Park Funeral Home recently presented members of Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Blane Dixon’s family with a donation from the Gold Shield Fund.
Dixon was killed in the line of duty in July.
The amount of the donation is $5,000.
The Gold Shield Fund is a local organization that was founded to assist Public Safety First responders who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty in the Gainesville community. Stephanie Dixon, the wife of Deputy Dixon, accepted the check along with her sons and members of the Dixon family.
