OAKWOOD — The West Hall boys remained unbeaten with 63-35 victory over rival Johnson Friday night at the Johnson gym.
The Spartans (2-0) opened strong running out to a 23-9 lead after the first quarter. They balance throughout the lineup as seven different players scored in the opening frame.
The barrage continued as West Hall took a 32-18 advantage into the intermission and never looked back in the second half.
Sawyer Passmore eventually led West Hall with 17 points. Canaan Koger added 15 points and Chase Reed 8 points for the Spartans.
West Hall is off until Dec. 3 when it travels to nearby Flowery Branch to open Region 7-4A play.
Johnson (0-3) will travel to North Hall on Monday.

The Class 2A eighth-ranked Leopards used a big second half to pull away from the Indians Friday night in Dahlonega.
Banks County (3-0) led just 31-29 at halftime but held Lumpkin County (1-3) to just 16 points after halftime. The Leopards led 41-33 heading into the fourth quarter and then exploded for 23 points in the final period.
Carl Cleveland and Dakota Orr both had huge games with double-doubles. Cleveland finished with 21 points and 18 rebounds while Orr added 14 points and pulled down 11 boards to go with 4 assists and 5 blocks. Pierce Martin had 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists for Banks County.
Lumpkin County was led by Pat Jackson, who had 15 points and 5 rebounds. Jacob Cumbie had 13 points and 4 rebounds and Chandler Pulley added 8 points for the Indians.
