With the start of the work week following the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Georgia Department of Transportation crews are ready to gear up construction projects around the region. That includes paving on SR 347/Lanier Islands Parkway.
GDOT spokeswoman Katie Strickland said crews will implement single lane closures during the day from Monday, Dec. 2 through Friday, Dec. 6. The lane closures will be in place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, weather permitting.
Strickland said work crews will place the final asphalt topping along the length of the Lanier Islands Parkway widening project. It extends from McEver Road to Holiday Marina.
Total cost of the project has been placed at $10.4 million.
