A man from Mobile, Alabama was arrested this week by Hall County Sheriff's Office deputies after he reportedly threatened to shoot employees at a vehicle sales business in Buford.
Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman Derreck Booth said the incident unfolded on Wednesday, Dec. 11 when Joaquin Washington Jones, 45, went to the business on McEver Road to purchase a vehicle. Booth did not name the business.
"Jones became angry in a dispute with employees when he demanded they put gasoline in the car, according to the preliminary investigation," Booth wrote in an email statement. "Jones threatened to shoot the three employees with a firearm. He also confined them to the property, by blocking the employees’ vehicles with the one he arrived in."
Booth said when deputies arrived at the business, they searched the premises but did not find any weapons.
He said Jones was arrested without incident around 7:10 p.m. He was charged with three counts each of false imprisonment and making terroristic threats and acts.
"Three other men from Mobile, AL, who were with Jones at the time, do not face charges," Booth said.
Jones spent the night at the Hall County Jail and posted a $7,200 bond on Thursday, Dec. 12, according to Booth.
