*Sautee-Nacoochee weekly update.

*North Georgia Zoo is offering one dollar off admission for recycled Christmas trees.  The zoo uses the trees as “tasty treats” and toys for the animals there.  Requirements for dropping off the trees can be found here.

*United Way of Hall County's Christmas Promise Store served 150 families, including 468 children, this year. The agency reports that 111 volunteers helped with the effort.

*”Your CBD Store of Braselton” won the town’s fifth annual online voting competition for the best-decorated tree.  The competition was sponsored by Buy Local Braselton.

*Lanier Technical College’s Wendy Schuster, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development, was awarded the Blackboard Exemplary Program Course Award for her development of an online course, Principles of Fraud Examination.   Blackboard is a provider of success-focused technology solutions and services,  spanning teaching and learning, analytics, community engagement, campus transactions, and security solutions as well as student services.

*Barrow County EMS’ annual “No Shave November” raised $935 this year in support of local cancer patients and cancer services.   The money was presented to the Northeast Georgia Health System Foundation and designated for local cancer services.   During the campaign, some EMS workers let their beards grow in support of the initiative.

*And, did you know it's been 55 years since Gainesville’s Preston Ridlehuber tossed a 52-yard pass in the Sun Bowl to set up the winning touchdown in Georgia’s 7-0 victory over Texas Tech, a win that capped Vince Dooley’s first year as the Bulldogs’ head coach?
