A senior at Johnson High School, Rachel Korynoski, has been named a Prudential Financial Community Award winner.
Korynoski and the other winners from around the country were cited for their "impressive community service activities."
Specifically, according to a news release, Korynoski “has initiated and coordinated numerous community service projects for fellow students while serving as a leader of her school’s Interact Club and National Honor Society chapter. Her projects have benefited homeless and hungry families, abandoned pets, the environment, and many other causes.”
She, along with the other five Georgia Distinguished Finalists, will receive an engraved bronze medallion.

Since the Spirit of Community Awards program began in 1995, more than 125,000 young volunteers have been honored at the local, state, and national level. The program is also conducted by Prudential subsidiaries in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Brazil, and Ireland.
