A park on the south end of Forsyth County will be getting a makeover in the not-too-distant future, but before that happens, the county wants some public input.

A community feedback meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 21 to get input on an update to the master plan design for Caney Creek Preserve, which is located at 2755 Caney Road.

"Attendees will have the opportunity to look at ideas for updates to current facilities as well as designs for additional amenities," said Parks & Recreation Director Jim Pryor in a press statement.

Caney Creek is already home to a dog park, two picnic pavilions, a playground and a 1.5 mile nature trail, according to information on the Forsyth County government website.

The current project schedule for Caney Creek calls for construction to begin in late 2019; new amenities would open in late spring of 2020.

The public input meeting on Thursday will be held at the Old Atlanta Park Recreation Center at 810 Nichols Road in Suwanee. The session is drop-in style from 6 to 8 p.m., and anyone who attends will be able to offer ideas and suggestions.
