Gainesville High School senior Adam Jobson was selected to participate in the Georgia Music Educators Association All-State Full Orchestra for the 11th/12th-grade division as a violinist. This is his sixth consecutive year to be chosen for this distinction.
The event was held on February at the Classic Center in Athens.
Jobson auditioned for the honor in January, competing against students from around the state. After rehearsing for more than ten hours during the weekend, his orchestra team performed works by Rimsky-Korsakov, Glinka, and Borodin under the direction of the Australian conductor Carolyn Watson.
"It was a bittersweet weekend since it was my last time getting to take part in this experience," said Jobson. "It's always a blessing to have an opportunity like All-State."
Adam is the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Jobson of Gainesville.
