An Oakwood man has been arrested after authorities said they found hundreds of sexually explicit images of children on his cell phone.
Sgt. Todd Templeton announced the arrest of Isaac Villatoro on Tuesday. He said the suspect was arrested without incident on Friday, April 5.
"We received a cyber tip through the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which we participate with," Templeton said. "Basically, one of the social media companies notified them that some inappropriate content had been transmitted to a particular account."
Templeton said Oakwood Police Department investigators were able to track the account to an address on Timber Hills Way. They obtained a search warrant and went into the home on March 26, 2019, seizing a number of cell phones in the process.
"Those cell phones were later forensically examined and upon receiving the results of those exams, we were able to find several hundred images and videos on one of the particular devices that belonged to Isaac Villatoro," said Templeton.
Templeton said they do not believe Villatoro generated the images himself, but downloaded them from various internet sites.
Villatoro is being held without bond at the Hall County Detention Center. He currently faces charges of sexual exploitation of a child, but Templeton said more charges are likely.
Templeton said another resident of the home, Kevin Ryan, was arrested and charged with possession of low THC Oil.
