A Gainesville man was arrested earlier this month after local drug agents found him in possession of multiple baggies of methamphetamine and various kinds of drug paraphernalia.
Lt. Don Scalia with the Hall County Multi Agency Narcotics Squad (MANS) said agents arrested Jose Guadalupe Aguilar, 21, on April 12 at a location on Monroe Drive.
"Mr. Aguilar was found in possession of approximately 4½ ounces (129 grams) of methamphetamine packaged in 15 bags, a handgun, digital scales, packaging materials and 3 methamphetamine smoking devices," Scalia wrote in a press statement. "The approximate street value of the seized narcotics was $12,900."
Aguilar faces charges of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a gun by a convicted felon and violation of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Violence Prevention Act.
Scalia said Aguilar was booked at the Hall County Jail. No other arrests are anticipated in this particular investigation.
