Very few details have been released on the case, but Lumpkin County authorities have confirmed a man was shot to death Saturday evening.
The Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to the scene of the shooting at 7:08 p.m. April 20.
James Jason Burnett, 43, was identified as the victim in the case.
The Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office called the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to handle the investigation. GBI agents have not yet responded to a request for additional information.
